Is ClassDojo free for our program?

Yes. ClassDojo is free for your Y, your staff, and your families, across every branch and program you run. ClassDojo offers optional services directly to families, like ClassDojo Plus and Dojo Tutor, and that is what keeps it free for everyone else. We never sell personal information, and we never share it with advertisers.

Which age groups does ClassDojo work for?

Ys use ClassDojo across everything they run, from infant and toddler rooms through teen programs. Staff choose what each group sees, so early learning and middle-school after school do not have to look the same.

How do our staff get set up?

Each staff member creates an account and sets up their group in a few minutes — no IT project, no training day.

How do families join?

Staff share an invite link or code, and families connect from the free app on their phone. Many families already use ClassDojo with their child's school, so there's often nothing new to download at all.

How is our program's data protected?

Your program's information belongs to your program. ClassDojo is COPPA-compliant, never sells personal information, and never shares it with advertisers.

Can directors see what staff share with families?

Yes. Authorized admins can review communication records, helping directors stay informed and support their teams.

We run more than one site. How does that work?

Each site runs its own groups, while directors manage them all from one account. You can send an announcement to every family in the association or to a single site, and see a real-time feed of updates from across your sites. Most Ys start with one site and add the rest once staff have seen how it works.

Is ClassDojo affiliated with the YMCA?

No. ClassDojo isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the YMCA or YMCA of the USA. It's a free app that Y staff and families choose on their own to stay connected.

We already use Daxko for registration. Does ClassDojo replace it?

No. Registration, membership and billing stay in Daxko. ClassDojo is the part it does not do: the day-to-day photos, messages and reminders families read on their phone.
